[EN] I had the opportunity to illustrate a children's book titled "Kashka, meu amigo de rodas" ("Kashka, My Wheelchair Friend"). It was a freelance project commissioned by the Portuguese publishing house Cordel D'Prata. The story follows Martim, a Portuguese boy who encounters a new student named Kashka at school and forms a deep friendship with him. Kashka hails from Africa and has come to Portugal for medical treatment due to a condition that weakens his ability to walk, necessitating the use of a wheelchair. The book beautifully depicts the interactions between Kashka, Martim, and their classmates, highlighting themes of empathy, inclusion, and the power of friendship.
[PT] Tive a oportunidade de ilustrar um livro infantil intitulado "Kashka, meu amigo de Rodas" ("Kashka, My Wheelchair Friend"). Foi um projeto freelancer encomendado pela editora portuguesa Cordel D'Prata. A história segue Martim, um menino português que encontra um novo aluno chamado Kashka na escola e forma uma profunda amizade com ele. Kashka vem da África e veio a Portugal para tratamento médico devido a uma condição que enfraquece sua capacidade de andar, necessitando do uso de uma cadeira de rodas.
